Fashion Technology

The fashion technology programme is geared for students of XI and XII to assist in developing values, attitudes, sensorial skills and aesthetic sensitivity necessary for specialization in fashion and lifestyle designing. It introduces students to the fundamentals of fashion, design and orients them to think of design as a creative problem solving process. It helps develop an elementary evolved ‘design’ perception and attitude, understanding of Indian Fashion and textile.

 

This subject aspire young students to create an awareness of the changing environment trends and style by constantly relating the student’s learning to real life situations. It provides a necessary direction, stimuli, facilities and experience to foster creativity and thereby help each individual to discover their own style identity and potential.

 

The school is fully equipped with a fashion technology lab where students undergo hand to hand experience of :

 

·         Stitching on machines.

 

·         Making paper patterns.

 

·         Draping the fit over a dummy.

 

·         Working on various elements of design.

 

·         Digital and video library of fashion shows.

 

·         Implementation and understanding of Indian heritage textile and embroideries.
